CARBON FREE
LOAD SERVICE

An Economical Green Solution For Your Transportation Requirements

HOW GREEN IS YOUR
SUPPLY CHAIN?

Recognizing that many customers want to further improve upon what is already one of the most environmentally friendly modes of transport, we have launched our new Tiger Cool Express CarbonFree Load Service.

As Part of the Tiger Cool Express CarbonFree Load Service rate, we will calculate and purchase carbon offsets for each Tiger Cool Express CarbonFree load sufficient to offset the carbon generated by the rail service, drayage and reefer unit in transit.

CARBON FREE
LOAD SERVICE

Example lanes with offset costs and carbon saved.
Origin Destination Offset Cost Carbon Saved
East Rutherford, NJ Irvine, CA $41 per load 3.42 metric tons per load
Northlake, IL Auburn, WA $29 per load 2.42 metric tons per load
The lower carbon output inherent to rail allows for cost effective offsetting of carbon emissions.
Carbon Footprint Comparison - East Rutherford, NJ to Irvine, CA CO2 Emissions
Estimated Rail Carbon Footprint (100 Loads) 127 Metric Tons CO2
Estimated Long Haul Truck Carbon Footprint (100 Loads) 906 metric tons CO2
Using a carload or intermodal rail solution instead of a truck would reduce this shipment's estimated Carbon Footprint by: 85.9%

Texas Capricorn Ridge Wind Project

In addition to generating renewable energy, the 662.5-megawatt Capricorn Ridge Wind Project also “adds a tax base to Sterling and Coke Counties, provides economic stimulus of landowner lease payments, and creates no air or water pollution.” The Capricorn Ridge Wind Project is capable of “generating enough electricity to power more than 220,000 homes.” Furthermore, the Capricorn Ridge employs a staff of 36 and allows local lands to remain in agricultural use.
15 MW Solar Power Plant Project of Gujarat

The 15 MW Solar Power Plant Project of Gujarat is a solar photovoltaic power project located in the western state of Gujarat, India. The Project has collectively installed and now operates more than 63,000 solar photovoltaic modules with an annual estimated power generation of more than 24,000 megawatt hours. Furthermore, the Project is promoting social, economic, environmental, and technological well-being. While providing environmental and community benefits, the Project – which was also certified under the Clean Development Mechanism – will reduce approximately 160,000 metric tons of carbon dioxide equivalent emissions (mtCO2e) over the first 7 years of the Project.
